Stitch from Stash-April

Greetings on a wet, snow showery day. It was raining and it just turned to snow! Funny how we had to wait until the end of April for snow! It won't stick though.

Here's the low down on my SFS:
$2.78 on DMC and cord trim
17.08 on two charts that I showed on my last post and..
            31.00 PTP fabric
For a total of $50.86 spent for the month. I had a $33.99 balance at the end of March with $25.00 for April. I now have a balance of $8.13.

I bought everything at the beginning of April, so I had self-control the rest of the month!

I'm averaging $23.00 a month in stash since joining this challenge. Not bad but I need to cut that down even further. Still, it's nowhere near the $50 a month I WAS spending!

I had no new starts from my stash but I did work on a bunch of WIPs: Vintage Stars, Fancey Blackett, Scary Sampler, Winter Wind Sampler (just the rooftop, nothing special), Hornbook Angel, and School Days. I really put in some time on Hornbook Angel

Here's what it looked like last time
It's stitching up nicely. I'll finish this soon.

And here's some progress on School Days
This isn't the real color by the way! Last time, I had just the top row of letters.

Maybe you'll recall in January I said I was going to stitch two ornaments a month? Well, here's the second one, lol!
This is Smell My Feet by La D Da, stitched on 35ct Havana using the called for silks. All from my stash. It only took me 3 months to stitch this but look at all that black! From the Oct. 2008 issue of JCS. I think it's time to start another ornament.

Carol will be happy to know there were no Temptations for me this month! And that was because I took an accounting of all my stash and was horrified, a little, haha, that I have 56 charts, 24 of those with fabric, and 7 that have both floss and fabric! Also, 17 patterns from various magazines and that doesn't even count all the JCS ornament mags, Christmas and Halloween! I have 2 Scarlet Quince patterns and 3 HAED patterns, and 3 Dimensions kits. Sheesh!

How about a picture from my hometown of Prescott, Arizona. Judging by the one restaurant there, this was more than 8 years ago.
The big hill in the background is called Thumb Butte, and its the bottom of a very dead volcano. Obviously this picture was taken in Spring as the trees are greening up.

Thanks ladies, for stopping in and leaving comments! TUSAL is up next, see ya then!

A finish and a find

That's right! I saw this over at another blog and thought this is so appropriate for me because I found fabric when I straightened up my bedroom/craft room-
Now if I could just find the missing cross stitch magazine that goes with a WIP I'd like to work on!

My real reason for coming back is this
Kind of blurry on this Blogger app but hopefully it'll look better on my blog. In The Meadow made into a pillow. I love it! The mother of pearl buttons I used were to disguise the bottom where I made a mess joining the cord up. Then to balance it out, added them to the top. The fabric below it is the backing. I meant to add some balsam but I forgot! I'll keep this one. I'm not sure I'll work with this big of cord again, too bulky. I'm off to turn that PSS Mary's Sampler into a pillow also.

Just a small post. Thanks for dropping in!

The rest of the story

I'm kind of happy with my previous post so lets do another! Actually, it's a Blogger app that I'm using now. I cropped pictures of the other WIPs that I worked on to see if they would fit better, so here we go
It does look smaller. It may fit on my blog better. Vintage Stars by Jeannette Douglas. I last worked on this sometime last year. Here is what it looked like before
Lots of work yet to do but I WILL finish this this year!

And last but not least, after finding the copies of the floss symbols and chart of this section, is LK Mystery Scary Sampler, yay!
Here's what it looked like before

So far, so good. I have one more picture of fabric that I bought and I love love it! Crystal Phoenix linen by PTP.
I think I have about $3 and change left from my budget after this! It's gorgeous and for a couple ornaments out of the JCS ornament magazines.

I'm not all that happy with this app either. Every time I want to add more text after a picture, it scrolls to the top automatically and then I find myself adding text to the beginning of this post. It's better still than what was going on before. I thought it was the end of my blogging career! A desk top computer would work better (no apps!) but that'll have to wait!

Thanks for hanging with me though! Progress on Fancey Blackett is the last post before this one, check her out and her dancing partner.

Fancey makes an appearance, Turtle Trot April

So I've downloaded a more newer BlogPress app and hopefully this will take care of this problem I'm having of uploading pictures.

Hope your having Spring-like weather in your part of the country. It's been kinda warm here.

I worked on 3 WIPs this past month. Here's Fancey Blackett and her oversized dancing partner!
As you can see, I added more leaves, acorns, Fancey and her partner. In a months time I should be finished with her because all that's left is corn stalks, crows, pumpkins, and squiggly vines.

Here's how she looked last time
So I'm going to post this now and see if its works. Thanks for coming by!
