Starts 21, 22, 23, and 24

Another Sunday spent getting caught up on my starts. Here they are..

Day 21
Let It Snow by CCN, found in JCS ornament issue 2008.

Day 22..
Blackbird by Blackbird Designs. This fabric is so stiff, I should've tried to relax it somehow. Too late, I'm not frogging the few stitches!

Day 23..
Jingle Bells by Brenda Gervais/WTN&T. The red on Santa is a Valdani thread and the jury is out-I'm not crazy about it. Maybe it's me but it tangles or knots up too much. Just that little bit stitched, I had to undo 6 knots.

Day 24..
Autumn Delights, designed by Barbara Ana. This is found in the Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine issue Nov. 2013. Fun, fun. Lots of little animals, houses, and leaves to stitch!

Tomorrow I'll have today's and Mondays starts posted.

Have a great week!

Hey Cupcake!

Here is my 20th start. Am I really behind in posting my starts? Oh yeah! I still have 4 more starts to get caught up on.
I agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment! This is 'better with a cupcake' by Amy Bruecken. This 30ct Peoria Purple linen is so pretty and I have the embellishments for it also.

With February and Mardi Gras in New Orleans coming up, I decided this flat ornament...
which I always put up on my header picture for February, will be retired. So I bought this..
I was going to do a substitution and stitch this today but wouldn't you know it..I don't have 3 of the DMCs! That's crazy with all the DMCs I recently bought. But isn't it lovely?! I didn't go through every project for the Crazy that has DMC, so I'm hoping I can find what I need amongst all those. I'm really itching to start this in time for the 1st of February.

Between now and Monday, I'm hoping to get 5 starts posted. Wish me luck! A question was raised on the FB page for the DSDUCJ/FC2015 about who is continuing on into February-Me! It's a hard proposition to post a start every single day, much less when things are happening like being sick for the last couple of weeks. I have stopped my cough drop addiction since yesterday though! I am also short on January starts and need to rustle up a few more charts to make 31. If I hadn't joined this group, a lot of what I recently started would still be sitting in a drawer, untouched. Going through my emails, I still run into a SoCal Deb email. Those emails were about our furbabies and stitching, of course! So yeah, I'm going to try to stick it out to the bloody end!!

Enough of that! Just wanted to thank you all for your comments! I'm managing to keep up on my responding to your comments but like other bloggers, I'm running into no reply emails. I don't know if some of you mean to be no reply. I'm not sure how to remedy that though. Though I'd put that out there. Welcome to the new followers also! Glad you're here! Take care, y'all!

Nineteen!

This is Trick or Treat, designed by Praiseworthy Stitches and found in the 2012 JCS Halloween issue. It also had been kitted up for awhile.
The fabric is more bluer than this picture and its long so I had to buy humongo Q-like bars to handle it. One of these days I'll take a decent picture with this iPad. There's a few specialty stitches on this. That should be interesting.

Back to work tomorrow! Ugh! I can't wait to retire! Take care!

Starts 17 & 18

Playing catch up! Here's Start 17..
This is Fresh Fallen Snow, designed by LHN and found in the 2011 JCS ornament issue. Stitched with silks which I was lucky to have in my stash.

Start 18..
This is Autumn Leaves from JCS September/October 2012 issue. I'm using the 32ct Lambswool Jobelan called for which I have decided that I love stitching on. Maybe it's just me but I feel like I stitch faster on Jobelan!

Back to stitching. Take care! Barb, them Seahawks are tough!

Sick Stitching, Debbie's Super Duper 15 & 16

When most of your coworkers are sick, guess what? Sick! Just a chest cold I think. Not enough to get in the way of my stitching though!

Onward!

Here's my 15th start which should've been Thursday..
Ghoul Tidings by PSS in the JCS Annual Halloween 2013 issue. I'm just hoping I'll have enough room there to frame this. I would have started in the center but there's this dark line that's an inch wide and goes the entire length of my fabric and I wanted to keep it away from my stitching area. I don't know if this is something natural or it happened from the dyeing process.

And here's my 16th start..
The wonderful Lady Rachel Ruth who is also my first BAP. You can see the stitch count there at the bottom of the chart. Done 1 over 2, my favorite way to stitch. Lots of solid color stitching in this piece. Love it!

For now, I'm going to stitch on my smaller starts so I can have some finishes. I don't feel so overwhelmed when I do that. After all, I've got 42 more days to go! Sunday I'll get caught up with today's and tomorrow's starts.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm trying really hard to respond to everyone; it's hit or miss!

Go Green Bay!

Gifted Gorgeousness, Desserts SAL

This is Fancey Blackett's Brooms, my Gifted Gorgeousness entry..
Me and Fancey go back a couple of years when I started the very first Fancey Blackett design called Fancey Blackett's Harvest Dance which I finally finished last year. I received this chart, the fabric and DMCs for my birthday two years ago from Gracie of Needles Pins and Dragonflies. I do have another chart that I won from Mel of Stitch from Stash in December but there is just no room in my life OR schedule to start it!

For the Glendon Place Amazing Desserts SAL 2015 here's Red Velvet Cake..
I don't have the fabric yet or the rest of the silks. I'll take care of those when I win the next Powerball lottery! Just kidding! I'm pretty sure I need two other colors at two skeins apiece. This SAL is being co-hosted by Neilteil (Stitched Up) and Brenda from xStitch Haven. Our posting dates are 2 to 3 months apart which really attracted me. There will be a prize for the person who starts and finishes their Dessert start this year. If you'd like more info, here's the link:
http://www.xstitchhaven.com/p/glendon-place-sal.html

I haven't picked a Crazy start for today so I'm taking care of that as soon as I get a load of laundry going.

Have a good evening!

Days 13 and 14

Emmanuel is a freebie from PSS. I've seen this stitched up but can't remember which blog it was I saw it.
I'm stitching on 36ct linen using DMC. The white blob is a dove. It looks better in person!

Day 14 start is an ornament from the 2012 issue of JCS ornaments called Joy to the World..
Lousy night time got-all-the-lights-turned-on picture. I'm stitching in all the water first.

Tomorrow is Gifted Gorgeousness so I'll be back for that. Gotta hit the hay!

Day 12 and a finish...woohoo!

Salem Sisters by Plum Street Samplers or PSS..
Hard to see the picture on the chart. Fabric is Autumn Gold by Lakeside and its 36ct! That's my absolute favorite count to use and easy on the eyes! At first I thought it was super dark but no, I'm liking it now. This is a fun stitch.

And wonders of wonders! I have a Crazy finish! It's the Christmas Pear..
Very cute! I stayed up until 11 last night finishing up. Glad to have a finish from the DSDUCJ/FC2015 list.

I'm going back to Fancey Blacketts Brooms since its my Gifted Gorgeousness project and the 15th is coming up.

Have a great week!

Day 11, lol!

I can't seem to come up with a catchy title!

Here's my 11th start as I watch some football between Denver and Indianapolis. Don't like either but would like the Colts to win. But anyway..
The fabric I'm using, 40ct Dill Newcastle linen by PTP, doesn't match the model but I'll live with it. The model looks orangey-ish. I managed to stitch that much before my eyes gave up. That's why I don't stitch too much with 40ct. I ended up with a headache. I'll work on it in bits and pieces. I have had this kitted up for the last 2 or 3 years so its nice to get it going. The pattern is found in the annual Halloween JCS Sept./Oct. 2009 issue and is designed by the Primitive Needle.

Thanks for stopping in. See y'all tomorrow!

Playing hookey..and other excuses

The last two weeks of December, I had a week off in between Christmas and New Year's day. So this past week it was back to my regular 4-10 hr. days and it kicked my butt! I had no energy to stitch or do much of anything. Then Wednesday, it was stitch or bake oatmeal raisin cookies. Which would you do? I baked!

I am now caught up with my starts and here they all are:

Day 6..

Day 7..
I'm going to stitch on this this evening because it stitches up fast.

Day 8..
Here's Majestic Bird from the 2013 JCS ornament issue. It's going to be pretty!

Day 9..
I'm using an R&R fabric called Liberty Gathering Grey (I think, amazing how fast I forget what I'm using!). It has a more chalkier color than this picture. It reminds me of slate, which goes really good with all the colors here. So far I have part of the horse's body and some outline. And....

Day 10..

And amazingly, I won a couple of things from Claudette of BAP Attack fame and look what she sent..
And the turtle needle minder above it all. It is so cute! My needle minder population (hoard?) is growing and the turtle makes it 8. Love needle minders!

I've got domestic duties to take care of so I'm off. It's a gloomy, rainy day today, perfect for stitching! I hope those of you dealing with the sub-zero temps are keeping safe and warm. The recent events taking place in Paris and elsewhere has me thinking that our time on this Earth is not guaranteed so lets make the best of the time we have! Take care everyone!

Day 5 of the Super Duper!

I thought I would finish this tonight but nope. It's dark here now but wanted to get this one in because I go back to work tomorrow and who knows when the next time I can post a daily start. Here is a pear..
Christmas Pear, that is. This and other pears are designed by Marly, I believe, from Santa's and Samplers. I went over to her blog to 'borrow' a picture, with her permission, of the finished pear..

I'm using a mystery linen with DMCs. Isn't it great? I have one other pear pattern printed out but after looking at all the other pears, I'd like to go back and print out the others.

Have a great week!

Oops, looks like I used the wrong color on the leaves (those white things!). Ribbit!

Day 4 of the DSDUCJFC15

Today was a good day. One of my goals for 2015 was to NOT spend so much time on the Internet. Well, the WIFI went out and that helps too!

Here's Day 4 start..
Having fun!

Off to watch Downton Abbey! Have a super week and see you tomorrow.

Starts 2 and 3

For the past two days I have been in blog heaven! I have been spending about an hour or two reading updated blogs about new starts, posting for the new SALs, and blogs that had gone by the wayside have come back with promises to post more often. It's been great but that means I'm not getting much done around here!

I am combining my Day 2 and Day 3 DSDUCJ/FC2015 starts. Got home from work yesterday and started on Fancey Blacketts Brooms..
I've done quite a bit of this. I think Fancey will be a quick stitch. For Gifted Gorgeousness, we post on the 15th, so I have that out of the way. I may pick it up again because its a fun stitch.

This morning I stitched a little on this, my 3rd start...
In the near future, I'll make the Pinkeep too. Too pretty not to!

This flat ornament that I made, my last finish of the year, has words from a very favorite Christmas carol that I love..
This is from the 2008 JCS ornament issue, A Song, A Song. In reading the designers little blurb that is next to the graph, she has mentioned the other ornaments that feature parts of that carol that are spread out in past ornament magazines. I'm on a quest to find the other magazines and managed to score these two..
For just $4.99 each from eBay. Both in great condition, both have the graphs for the ornaments in the series. On the 2007 issue, you can see the ornament that is right below the words Celebrate Christmas. Now I need the '06 and '04 magazines. I know JCS is selling the entire ornament series digitally, I just don't have the money to buy that. When I was looking for magazines, I came across a seller who is selling 17 years of JCS ornament magazines. She's asking $49.99-yikes! Since I can't eat paper or stuff a magazine down my gas tank, well, carry on!

It is that time again for the Downton Abbey ornament on my header! Yes, the show comes back this Sunday, the 4th! Be sure to catch it.

Have a great day, spend it stitching!

The Madness Begins....Happy New Year!

Here's my start on Ambiance Automnale.
I'm stitching this on 28ct Sand Castle using GAST Black Crow which I'm going to run out of real soon. I'll have to search for more.

I have been awake for over 20 hours so I'm off to hit the sack. We are also dealing with this..
Snow, and this was taken at night. It's almost daylight out there. That's crazy!

Goodnight, over and out. ZZZZzzzzz
