Dancing Happy!!!

Hi all! Hope the weather is fine where you're at. I thought I would poke my head in here and share a few things.

I have 3 finishes!! Yes, 3 in almost as many days. First one is The Merry Hart by PSS..

Love it! I just love that huge red flower. I think my fabric is Platnum 35ct that I
coffee dyed. I used mostly CCW floss with a couple DMC subs. Here are a couple of
other angles..

On the last post I mentioned feeling stressful over the amount of 'planned' stitching
I had. I chucked those plans and just picked up whatever made more noise. There's something
to be said for being a monogamous stitcher!

Next up is Promise Me by Lizzie Kate..

This is to be a Christmas gift to my daughter. It's on a 32ct linen, mystery, with WDW
floss. I wanted to put 'mom' and the date somewhere on this but I just couldn't get
it right. It looked horrible. I usually don't sign my stuff anyway. When it's framed I'll
put something on the back with my name and date on it

My next finish happened just last night..
Early Witches by The Primitive Hare, on 30 or 32ct French vanilla linen with DMC.
I coffee dyed this too. I put in a marathon stitching session the last couple days!
A WIP since 2014, love it. Tituba has a black kettle that she is carrying and Marie
Leveau is carrying a voodoo doll with a bunch of pins sticking out of it. I added a few
more! Lol. Here's another pic..

I think you can see the pins. At first I thought she was holding a chicken. That would be
appropriate too!

Those are my 3 finishes!

I also deconstructed a previous finish..

By Country Cottage Needleworks. I hot glued that thick store bought cording to the sides;
never again. You can see where I started ripping it off. I had to puck off all the glue. Here is
how it looks now..
I'm not sure I have enough fabric on the sides to work with but I'm thinking of
turning this into a table topper. Sew on matching fabric on the sides and then bind it. Hmm.
We'll see.

That's it. I just wanted to show my finishes. I will probably take some time to read
and do some woolfelt appliqué.

Thanks for visiting. Hope you all have a good week!

Stuff, the June edition

Hi all! Hope June is off to a great start for you all. It has finally warmed up around here, in the middle 80s. It's finally acting like regular Arizona late-spring weather.

I have Junia progress to show, my FFO'd exchange piece, new stash (again), and another FFO!

First order of business is something Robin in Virginia wanted to know about my header picture, the flowers. After some research, I've found they are called the Daisy Fleabane flower. They're from the
Aster family of flowers, not a Daisy..
They grow wild here in the spring. I can't remember if they grow here after our monsoons.
. They like dry conditions, fields. I did pick a leaf for the smell test and they do smell
like soap! For that reason, I'm guessing that's why animals won't eat them. I've never
given them much thought because they're basically just weeds. Here in the Southwest,
wild flowers are confused with weeds. At any rate, I had to weedwack those cute
flowers. They sure brighten up a yard though. Different species of the Fleabane
are found in other areas too like Indiana.

On to stitching.

One of my refinished finishes was FFO'd today..
I really like how it turned out using the light orange cord that Carol (I think we all)
know who Carol is!) made and I won. Cute.

I also FFO'd my exchange piece. I wished I took a better picture but here it is..

The fabric is lighter in real life, WDW Parchment. The design is
Hurrah! Blue and Gray by Pineberry Lane. I stitched just the bottom
portion. What is missing is the word Hurrah and a few more pinwheels like
the one at her right arm and the diamond motifs. I'm pretty sure I
would still be stitching on it had I continued with the rest of the pattern!
I made it a hanging flat ornament with the shell rings to hang floss in,
trimmed with the red and white twine and tied it with silk ribbon? I forgot what
that's called! The back fabric is a med brown with tiny blue and red flowers.
It is on its way to Georgia as I type. Hope she likes it.

For Junia I picked up The Merry Hart by PSS..

I really do love stitching on this. I have added the flowers to the border and a start on
the roof. I hemmed and hawed about the fabric at the beginning but it has since grown
on me and I'm happy with it. I think I'll keep at it until it's finished.

Well, I stashed again (enter guilty grin)! I have got to stay away from those
stash selling sites on FB! But look what I found..
This has been my unicorn chart ever since a flosstuber showed it. I think I
paid $8 for it plus postage. Here's the two other items I couldn't live without..

I just had to have the WTN&T chart on the right, love the colors on it, and
the magazine with the adorable Halloween pattern. I bought it just for that reason!

Okey doke! That's all I have. I think if I update more often with smaller posts,
Blogger won't go haywire!

Merry Hart will stay in my qsnaps and will be finished. I'm rethinking my plans because
I'm getting a little stressed about my plans! Lol. I think from here on out, I'm just going to
stitch on whatever catches my attention.

Oh, I forgot! For Whine and WIP SAL on Stitch Maynia, I pulled out Dear House
by La D Da..
It's my whine piece because of all the dk blue. I have added the the blue to the 'you are
really' section. I'm nearing the halfway point on this but can only take the blue for so
long!

Alright, now I'm done. Take care and thanks for stopping in!

Happy Junia?

Yep, Junia, because I'm extending Maynia in June! I have lots to share and this post may run into 2 parts. I'm hoping not. Let's go..

Maynia kind of crashed and burned after the last post. Not really though because I joined an exchange and started stitching for that around the 20th. This is Hurrah! by Pineberry Lane Designs..

So everything I showed on the May 18th post was it for my Maynia. I got closer to a few finishes
which will be stitched in June. Here those are..
Christmas Garden, of course, I did get in more of that red flower bush there in the lower
left corner.

A Merry Hart in the picture above this^ will be the first I pick up once I get more stitches
in my exchange piece.

I have an FFO..

This is Cozy Cabin by LHN found in a JCS ornie mag. It's so tiny I felt I needed to add
on the two fabrics. Still deciding on trim but I subscribe to the notion of less is more,
so we'll see.

From the Dept. of Reworked Finishes comes these 3..
For the skeleton piece, I cut most of the excess fabric off past the orange ribbon. I
like it better shortened. The middle piece was a long horizontal pillow which looked
awful! So I took it apart and added the fabric behind it, to the top and bottom. Carol,
this one will get the light orange cord treatment, one of the cords I won from you. Last but not
least is the la D Da freebie that was one of my very first finishes ever. When I
discovered stitchy blogs, I learned that everything didn't need to be framed! I'm not
sure how I'll finish it as both fabric and the homespun I used for the backing is fraying bad
with not much room for a quarter seam. All these refinished are sitting on top of their back
fabric.

And I stashed too. Here is one..

and this beauty that I plan to start this month..

Girls in Blue Dresses by Merry Wind Farm. She has a blog and she's a kind of
newish designer of repro samplers. Beautiful samplers she's got going and
sometimes she'll offer freebies. I don't have a link. I am missing some floss
like Buckeye Scarlet for the red and a few other DMCs. I bought the chart off
a stash selling FB site. Dangerous place I tell you! When I saw this chart, I jumped
on it.

I believe I'm done! One thing about using Blogger this way is I have to keep
everything short and to the point!

So there are my plans for June. I stopped stitching an entire week because
of some worries and stress. Usually, I stitch to keep those at bay but not
this time. After today, I'll be back to normal.

Take care everyone! Hope you get lots of stitching in:)
