Elvis, Elvis, let me be,

Keep that pelvis far from me!

Quick! What movie was that line in?!

But seriously, I forgot to tell you in the last post that Elvis spoke to me while we were in Vegas. I'm serious! I'm not delusional! In our walks at the Venetian trying to find places, we happened to run into an Elvis impersonator! As he passed by us, he said to me "how ya doin' darlin'". Eek! I smiled the rest of the day over that!

I picked up another WIP that was a Crazy start in January. Here's The Journey..
Designer is LHN. And how it looked almost a year ago...
I'm enjoying this one. My plan is to stitch on each WIP until they are DONE! We'll see how far that goes, lol.

As I do about this time of year, here is my reading for 2016..
I'm sure I'll be adding to this pile throughout 2016. My Shelfari account says I read 22 books in 2015. Wow, I didn't think I read that much since I stitched a lot!

I counted up my finishes and the total came to 25 with 15 of those DUCJ/FSAL2015 finishes and 10 non-Crazy finishes. And most of them are waiting to be finish finished or framed.

Thanks for hangin' with me!

An overhaul

Hi all! It's been awhile. I've had to fix a few things, hence my title. I had to change the two emails that were connected to this blog, comments went to one email and comment moderation went to another. It was that second one that was giving me problems. My family and friends started calling me asking what was going on with the emails I was supposedly sending. After they told me what kinds of emails they were getting from me, I had a feeling my email account got hacked or something. It definitely wasn't me sending them this stuff. How terrible. My iPad email is through iCloud and I ended up having to cancel it and then make another. In iPad alone I couldn't find a way to change this email. I had to search for instructions on how to do this. I did it and then ended up wiping out my Notes among other apps, where I had important things typed down, recipes that sounded good. What a pain but I now have a new email. The other email account that sent me your comments I had to change also because of all the spam I started getting. Around July is when all that crap started. I never used to get all that before so I was befuddled. That took a phone call to Centurylink that lasted an hour just to lose the old email and establish a new. Viola, no 6 or 7 spam emails a day like before. Unfortunately it means that if any of you have a personal question for me, you'll have to communicate with me through the comment section on this blog and I'll send you my email. If you comment on my blog, I'll respond right underneath your comment. It sucks to have to go this route. I hope none of you received any awful messages or emails, I want you to know I would never do that. Its seems that not only do you have to be aware of normal things like locking your doors, and strange cars parked in the neighborhood, but you have to be careful of things on the World Wide Web and people who don't have anything better to do than mess with people's lives. I really don't know sometimes. So what did I learn after this fiasco? Change those passwords on your emails often!

I also overhauled how and what I stitch. I think I was stressing out over all these ornaments that I stitched and needed finishing. I quit stitching on them after deciding that the world wasn't going to fall apart if I didn't get these ornaments finished. So now all I'm going to stitch on are my WIPs, the big ones. When I feel like finishing up an ornament, I'll do that. I'm joining no SALs in 2016 and I'm pulling out of another that I tentatively said I would join. Would you like to see what I picked up after my new way of stitching? Here is Winter Wind by PSS, all finished..
This design is found in the Jan/Feb 2011 JCS issue. Fitting for the crazy weather we're having here. It has snowed almost every weekend and for a couple of days the high temps never climbed higher than 40 degrees. But back to this pretty design...I had some reservations over the colors of the snowflakes. Timber? Stepping Stones? All Classic Colourworks but after looking at it after I ironed it, it works! It's very pretty and I'm glad I picked it back up. All I had before was a few snowflakes on the left and 3/4 of the house. It's on 36ct quicksilver linen by Lakeside. Here's another angle..
I love houses, labor intensive but worth it!

I also finished my Fleur d'Orleans by Ink Circles before my about-face, lol!
The fabric is much more whiter than the picture. I used DMC and 32ct antique white linen. Now that I look at it, something's beads maybe? I'll have to go back and look at the chart, ha.

My daughter and I headed to Las Vegas the first weekend of December. We took my new ride and it drove perfectly. We stayed at the Venetian and wow, what a lovely room!
Two queen beds, a sitting area, a gorgeous bathroom. I was quite content to ignore the sights and just stay in that room! There was also a well-stocked mini fridge..
Next to the lime Powerade at the bottom left was a bottle of Moët Chandon Champagne...ooooh! But! If you lifted anything in this refrigerator for more than two seconds, you got charged for it! If we didn't use anything, $100 was credited back to me. Whew! I told my daughter to not touch anything! The Venetian was super nice and we discovered there was a Carlo's Bakery inside, you know, the Cake Boss? We finally found it but there was a huge line of people and I wasn't up to waiting. I really wanted cannolis though. Shucky darn! Also inside is a short canal where you can take a Gondola ride, high end stores like Coach, Dooney & Bourke, Ralph Lauren, etc. we also found macarons
I really wasn't impressed. Somewhat dry I thought. Maybe in France they would taste better!

Well, that's it in a nutshell. I almost gave up blogging after my email account problems. I decided that I like doing this though so I'll continue for a bit. I'm also trying to limit myself on blog reading! It's hard but I can sit for 3, 4 hours on a weekend morning reading blogs and that is doing me no good as I'm ignoring housework, and being a slob. I did this with my Facebook also as I was spending a lot of time on it. I just need to move it! Move it!

This is certainly turning into a novel! But I have a couple more pictures for you, all season appropriate, lol!
Ignore the man! This tree used to be a bush. It's just a juniper that's in the median of I 17 between Flagstaff and Phoenix, AZ. Twenty-some years ago, someone began sneaking out there to decorate this bush for Christmas. Well this is what it look like now. It's grown and the ornaments have gotten bigger. The highway patrol has not been able to catch anyone decorating the tree so it continues on. We're glad of it!

Downtown Prescott, AZ. my hometown. As you can see it snowed! And we're supposed to have a white Christmas too, but after that it can melt! Haha.

I wanted to come back and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I'm glad you all haven't absconded and that I still have followers! Take care.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi all!

I'm ready for Thanksgiving! Are you? I had one stop to make for sour cream and I am done.

I thought I would show the two Christmas stitching that I knocked out in two days. Yeah, it didn't take long!
Ho Ho Ho freebie by Pineberry Lane and Peace Bird by Rosewood Manor found in the JCS 2012 Ornament issue.

Last weekend I did have a finish finish, Joy to the World
Please ignore everything in the background! This design is also found in the 2012 JCS ornie magazine. The back fabric is the same as the bottom and trimmed with that big chunky chenille, and finished off with the kind of metallic gold bow and three tiny rusty bells. I feel like I make an awful lot of flat ornaments so now I'm going to concentrate on pillows for a bit!

I thought I'd throw in a Halloween finish, you know I've got to!
This is Waiting from the 2012 Halloween JCS issue. See?! Flat ornament! Haha. The same ribbon used for the bow I used for the trim. Then I attached the Mill Hill bat charm on the moon. It's just a tiny thing!

I mentioned snow in Arizona some posts back so I thought I would put up a couple pictures! This is my driveway, lol
Once that sun comes out, it's byebye snow! It was gone by noon. And those of you who have been to Jerome, the ghost town, which is on the other side of the mountain from me, here ya go!
The Jerome Grand Hotel at the top center is said to be haunted. You have to be on a waiting list to stay there Halloween night. The hotel was a former hospital and my 73 year old aunt was born there. So there you have it! Snow in AZ. Also, you can drive two hours east and north to go skiing! And no the tourism board here is not paying me:))

I'm off to have another slice of pizza! My efforts to lose a few pounds is on hiatus!

Happy Thanksgiving! May the day be filled with food, family, and fun!

November Gifted Gorgeousness

Greetings from a gloomy, chilly Arizona day. Calling for snow showers tomorrow, Noooooo! I'm so not ready.

How are you all? I excavated Whoo's There? by PS out of my ever moving pile of WIPs..

And before..
Pictures are looking pretty gloomy too. I spent yesterday adding more to the house, the tree on the left, and the fence while watching the last two Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and the Shining. Still haven't remembered to stitch in the Owls other leg on the left! It's starting to look great and will be even more once I fill in that whole diamond area.

I joined the PSS 12Days bandwagon and this is all I have!
Haha! My attention has been everywhere except on this. I've picked up some smaller WIPs here and there, made a new start for a gift and didn't realize the crown will take some time. I'll work at it but I have other projects I can use for gifts.

I won a little contest Tiffany of Tiffstitchesablog held. She asked for people to eyeball her gorgeous creation to find any missing stitches and I could certainly see how that was possible on this particular stitching. Well, I found a missing stitch that she didn't know of and I won! She just sent me these great fabrics..
The pictures just aren't getting any better! Linen in the left hand corner, the other two evenweaves. And the pink is just a ginormous size. Thank you Tiffany! I have projects lined up for these.

So I'm sure you heard that Stitch from Stash is no more by now. I can certainly understand Mel letting it go. These past weeks I've been a bad girl as far as stashing goes and I added a few more things to my pile..
Yeah, I was monitoring her website on these. I hemmed and hawed and finally said 'Just Do It!' It sits near my craft table acting like the elephant in the room, mocking me. It would work up so fast, but I enjoy looking at it as is. I know, weird!

I also bought this..
When I'll start this I don't know. After Mel sent out emails stating the end of SFS, I did what any self respecting quarterback says after winnng the Super Bowl and what he's doing after the game..I said Going Shopping! So I should be receiving more stash here pretty soon!

This past week I hadn't done any stitching. Mr. Vertigo decided to stop in and stay for the entire week. It's not as bad as I've had, I just have to be careful getting out of bed, bending over. It sucks but I think I'll have it for the rest of my life. It gives me a headache which I'm not sure is from the vertigo or because I stress out over having it again. I found stitching gets my mind off of it. I can't let Mr. Vertigo win so I'll just keep keepin' on and hope it will disappear for almost a whole year like before.

Take care everyone! I'm appreciative of your comments so keep them coming!

Prayers to the citizens of Paris. I'm totally horrified at the hatred some groups have and I think our world has changed drastically. Je Suis Paris.

Frolic on Halloween Eve

Finally, I remembered to stitch something for Friday Frolics!

My WIPs have been getting quite loud for some attention so I picked up the lucky Blackwater Hollow Sampler by Stacy Nash..
I am almost half way with Blackwater. For those of you who don't know, that horse was supposed to be brown, but my boo-boo resulted in the Onyx Horse! I decided to leave him Onyx. He looks fine! I left my needleminder attached.

Here's the sampler before..
July of this year was the last time I touched it. The first picture shows the fabric as its real color. I'll be getting back to the PSS Mystery Sampler today. I'd like to keep up with it, but it's something I'm not in a rush to finish for this Christmas. I'm starting to see some nice versions of the sampler around Blogland though. Great stitching ladies!

I took an inventory of my Halloween stitching this year and while it's not a lot like the year before, I'll take it!

Can't leave out Fancey Blackett, my favorite witch!

October Stitch from Stash

"Time for SFS! It feels like it was just yesterday I was doing September's SFS!

Month: October 2015

Spent: $20.00 and $9.99 = $29.99
I bought JCS Christmas ornament magazine and PSS Merry One

Earned: $14.00

The breakdown:
      Balance from September-$26.50
      October add.                 +  25.00
      New balance                  =  51.50
      Spent.                            -   29.99
      Balance.                         =  21.51
Earned.                           + 14.00 $8 for a giveaway pinkeep, $4 for Wicked and $2 for Waiting
Balance for November          =  $35.51

Maybe by December, I'll figure out a better way to do a balance sheet for this, lol.

Pictures! Here's my spending..
I guess I should be lucky I was able to get my paws on that PSS! Paulette says they're sold out. Sorry for the dark picture. I have about 7 ornaments picked from this magazine to stitch. I never Not find anything to stitch from these magazines.

I finished 3 things- two Halloween giveaway items and this little itty bitty kitty called Waiting..
Taken from the 2012 JCS Halloween magazine
I stitched it on 28ct Tarnish linen with my own overdyes, all from my stash. This thing is about 2.5 sq. inches. I'm not sure what I'll do with it. It's soo cute!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of what Heather and Missy received from my Halloween giveaway. For those of you who don't know, Heather blogs at Fantasy Cross Stitch and Missy blogs at Missylaneous. Heather has pictures up of what I sent her. But I'm not sure about Missy.

And look at this..
The mystery Christmas SAL Paulette is hosting. I'm putting all of them on this piece of 36ct Vintage Maritime with DMC threads. I'm adding a few other colors to the mix. Like this pattern, it has one pear that is a different color than the other pears. So I looked for a thread that looked like pear color, a light greenish yellow. Now that my Halloween stitching is done I'll pay attention to this SAL and what I put together for my Christmas stitching, below but ignore that owl!
These are the plans anyway because all of my WIPs are really starting to talk to me! If I finish all of these, I have more as backup!

I am joining the Debbie's Crazy January SAL in 2016. No super duper for me! I'm thinking 15 but may do 30. I'll be better organized than I was this year! The sad part is I have a full 30 projects kitted now that I was supposed to do in February of this year. So I'm pretty set right now!

My daughter and I are headed to Las Vegas, or Lost Wages as I've heard some people call it, in December and Hallelujah! there is a cross stitch shop there! I will be bribing my daughter to go with me, haha. I better save up some SFS credits and finish more things between now and the first week of December. Yee-Haw!!

Thanks everyone for stopping in. I've had some new followers by way of Bloglovin, Welcome! I have a few no-reply followers too, thanks since I can't reply to you.

Take Care!

Whoo's There?

Is there anybody out there? Quick, what song or singer is that lyric from?

Well, it's Gifted Gorgeousness time again and house construction has begun on Whoo's There..

So the color of this fabric is actually white and gray, not how it looks above. I'm too lazy to get off the couch for a better picture! I'm hoping for a finish before this Halloween, fingers crossed.

Thanks for the well wishes, my headache has been gone. We're due for 3 days of rain and maybe that had something to do with it. My daughter came home sick tonight, oh boy. Fun times ahead! Not!

My oh my, what a wonderful day yesterday was! Today? Not so much..

My exchange goodies have arrived!

A big box!

Packages, a card, candy, candles, black trims, the orange kitchen towel..

The Halloweenie chart, the adorable cube. I had never seen that design by LizzieKate before. Two ceramic decorations and the pompom trim. It's always great to be gifted with trims.

Another chart I have never seen by Stacy Nash. This is identical to my tombstone angel drum keep which is still not sewed together! The notepads will keep me in an Autumn state of mind for awhile. And..
this great 36ct Mesa fabric! By PTP, my favorite kind of linen that is off limits economy-wise!

Thanks again, Joanie! I love it all!

I'm home from work with what feels like Mr. Vertigo or a migraine trying to make a comeback. Thought I'd post this and then go back to bed!

Take care, y'all!

The winner and exchange goods!

I have survived the Great Pepper Fire! I'm good but I haven't broke into a jar just yet to see what they taste like, haha.

Onto the business at hand!

LEE is the winner of the magazine and fab/floss!

Lee, email me at to leave your mailing address and I'll get it out to you asap.

As for my Halloween giveaway, Heather has emailed me with her address but Missy, no. Where are you Missy??

I have not received my Halloween Harvest exchange goodies just yet but my recipient got hers from me:
Becky does not have a blog but she does FB. I made her the box at the top with the August freebie from the Stitcherhood, fabric and trims because she finishes her own things, caramel, cinnamon candle, a thread holder, two overdyed threads, charms, a Notforgotten chart and fabric to go with it. Here's a closeup of the box..
I enjoyed making it. I also changed the color of the Quaker emblem on the stitched section and boy, can a button with a ribbon cover up a joining problem!

I believe this is the last exchange for me. I love them but s___ happens and sometimes your partner isn't able to send your goodies on time. I can understand that but it's happened the last two exchanges I've taken part in. Is it me? Who knows. Besides, it interferes with my Halloween stitching! Woo haw!

Finally, finally I'm stitching for myself! I'm so bad, I have forgotten the Friday Frolics with Kitten Stitching SAL, the Americana SAL, and the PS SAL. but my excuse is giveaway and exchange stitching. And I missed the Gifted Gorgeousness last month because of Mr. Mojo leaving the building. So last night, I pulled out my Whoo's There and started on the scary house. I'll update the PS SAL with that one, pictures forthcoming.

That about does it. I'll be back on the 15th with Whoo's There for the GG.

Thanks for stopping by!

gets the Consolation prize!!

Ladies, send me your mailing addresses to and I will get your packages in the mail by next week!

I am kinda still stitching on the bigger prize, lol. So glad you all played along. Thanks!

Okay, back to NHL hockey!

This and that, and a magazine/fabric giveaway!

Greetings from a blustery, somewhat wet central Arizona. It's finally Fall here after temps in the high 80s and 90. I now have to pull up a blanket in the early mornings. Woohoo!

Since I'm stitching feverishly on my giveaway project, this post is about all sorts of stuff.

A couple weeks ago, Ranae of the Stitch to Stitch blog, had a giveaway of skull stick pins she had made and I was one of the Winners! Yay for me!
You just have to have a hot pink skull in the house for Halloween! She also sent the cute Dragonfly pin. So cute..Thanks again, Ranae!

I also expanded my horizons by downloading that Xstitch app. It was $2.99. I watched a movie while entering some of my charts and 114 threads! That was just my GAST and Classic Colourworks threads. If anything, this app reminds you of just how crazy we really are about stash! Before, I could go happily through my life not knowing exactly how many charts I have! Psst, I have 34 and more that I haven't entered. But this hobby keeps me out of trouble so I'll keep it!

This past Saturday, my daughter and I headed to a farm some 30 miles from here to pick veggies. For $3 a bag, we couldn't pass it up. Here's what we got: chilies, all kinds, zucchinis, green tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and big tomatoes. I'm going to can a lot of it. Here's a story that may be funny to you but not me at the moment. I found a recipe for Cowboy Candy, really candied jalapeños. I sliced up 2 1/2 lbs. of jalapeños and am now paying for it! I didn't use gloves and now my hands and fingertips are burning and tingling, my eyes are burning and my face. And this is the second day! I did get 2 1/2 pints of this candy but I've had enough of hot for the time being! The moral of this story is: Wear Gloves when cutting chillies!

Part of our trip was to test this out..
My new ride! A Honda Civic and it drives great. My old jalopy had almost 250k miles on it so it was time. The old car's radio didn't work and turning on the AC made the engine do crazy things. And in AZ., you need AC! The older I get, the less tolerant I am of hot.

Congrats for reading all that because now, here's the Giveaway..
You get the magazine which is the Cross Stitcher, not the UK magazine, October 2003 and has 7 Halloween designs. This design takes the 14ct Purple Potter aida and the fluorescent floss for the moon. I also stitched another design from this magazine...
And no, this is not in the giveaway! I couldn't bear to part with it! Follower or not, stateside or overseas, I'll pick a name if there are more than 1 person interested in the magazine/fabric/floss this Saturday the 10th. Good luck! FYI-this magazine has been around, it's not perfect!

So there you have it-no personal stitching of mine in sight. I am chomping at the bit to start some Halloween smalls and Christmas. I spent sometime this a.m. pulling fabrics and charts for stitching in these last 3 months. Oh yeah, my stitching mojo has come back with a vengeance!

Next time, I'll show what I made and sent to my recipient in the Halloween Harvest Exchange 2015 hosted by Dixiesamplar/Terri. I'll be receiving my goodies sometime this week so I'll show that off too.

Thanks for stopping in and commenting! Hoping the best for those in SC and places affected by Hurricane Joaquin. The flooding looks horrendous! Take care..

Stitch from Stash September + Stash!

First up, SFS Business:

Beginning Balance: $65.51
September:               25.00
Balance:                 $90.51

MONTH: September

SPENT: $66.01 yikes!

EARNED: $2.00. This was from the PS Queen Bee. I had a finish of my exchange project but lost
the chart and its measurements. Oh well..

BALANCE: $26.50 Yay!

The WIPs I worked on were Halloween Revelry, the exchange stitching, and Sweet Liberty (my
Americana SAL project). That was it.

Just what the heck did I buy?!! Look..
I had been eyeballing the Lady's Sachet for some time now. It's the crown that got me! Peek a Boo from Val's Stuff-isn't that pumpkin cute? The denim gingham for the design will be my first time stitching on that type of fabric. I have a hankering to stitch some smaller Halloween and will start it this weekend. And the LHN pattern, can't wait to start it. And I also bought...
There are some great designs in this magazine, both punchneedle and xs. And.....! Lol...
I had to have this chart. It's a reissue over at Stitching Bits and Bobs. Oh, there are lots more of PS that I would love to have but this will do for now. The pompom trim is exempt from SFS! The other things I bought were the secondhand finds that I talked about a couple posts back maybe.

The exchange project is about done, some final tweaking happening and will be in the mail this weekend. I was wrong about the date to ship. For those of us with partners in the country, September 30th is the mail date. Whew! Scared myself!

Last but not least, it's Halloween giveaway time! The only rule is be a follower! Overseas is welcome except for South Africa. Nothing against South Africans, it just seems that packages to this country get lost! Comment on This post that you would like a chance to win. I may also have a consolation prize. Drawing day is October 7th, exactly two weeks from today, at my bedtime! Also, for the GP, tell me if you wear necklaces or earrings. I think that's it. This fella and his unseen buddy are looking forward to haunting their new homes, wooooooo!
