Happy happy

Hi all! I have another finish! Carol called it. She thought I would finish it soon and she was right!

It is very warm right now. I've been chugging ice water every day. The weather service has the humidity rising and storms for Tuesday. Yay! I can't imagine the southwest not having our monsoons, we would just dry up and blow away. Here's another fire near me, about 17 miles south. This one was started by a lightning strike..
It's that color because of the sunset. Last I heard it was about 8,000 acres. Firefighters
are out on the fire but it's not over just yet. So say a prayer for their safety, for everyone
on this fire.

Speaking of finish, here it is..Happy Owlidays..
On a PTP fabric, 32ct using DMC. Isn't it cute? I just finished like 30 minutes ago.
I almost left off the words and put more gifts and snowflakes but I'm glad I didn't. A nice
wintry stitch in these 90+ degrees.

I'm seeing almost the whole US in a heat wave and some with lots of humidity. Ugh.
Hope you're all keeping cool.

We have a winner for the JCS magazine up for grabs and that would be
Linda/Stitching with my Furbabies. Congrats Linda! Once again I have
lost your address so email me at azcampis@yahoo.com and I'll get it out to you.

I stashed a little..
That smaller design on the chart at left will be part of my exchange plans. The
Postcards design at right I wanted since I stitched up a Halloween postcard couple
years ago and had fun.

Barb/Wicked Stitcher mentioned wanting to stitch Halloween. Me too Barb! My exchange
project should scratch that itch for me. I'm just waiting until the end of of July to find out
who my partner will be.

Let's have a contest!

Take a look at my finish and all the snowflakes. Pick one (1) snowflake that you think is
my favorite. I do have a favorite. Let me know the area it is found. For the two big
snowflakes, you would say the one at left or right. The smaller ones you would say for
example: the snowflake near the hanging bird house and hanging star. If several people
pick my favorite, I will draw names. You must be a follower, leave your pick in the
comments, open to overseas followers, and you must have a working email and be
sure to leave that with your guess. I'l send the winner a little something! Good luck to all!
Contest ends a week from today the 28th.

Okey doke. I have been staying in this weekend and watching movies from the
library. Today it's a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon. Yesterday though I watched
Titanic for the first time! I must say it had me crying at the end. I wasn't sure
what to make of it at first but I enjoyed it.

Alrighty. Just a small post this time. I think Owlidays is my 18th finish for the year!

Take care everyone and keep cool! See you next time.

Oops, Part 2

I forgot to show my exchange gift!
It's a needle rest! That's what my partner called it. Here's another pic..
The bee design is from Lizzie Kate. It almost resembles a bee with the ribbon as wings.
The wooden piece is open at the top and she mounted the design onto it and
ruched tiny black ribbon around it.

It's a great piece.

Be sure to see the new post below this one. Bye!

Mindless Stitching

Hi all! Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July, those of you who celebrate. Mine was low-key, just the way I like it! I think our monsoon season has begun, yay. The humidity has been up and earlier today we had a thunderstorm roll through, raining for a couple of hours. I was out during errands and got pretty drenched. Us Arizonans wait for our rains with anticipation!

I have progress to show, new stash, plans, and my exchange gift. No FFO's, haven't been in the mood!

After I finished The Merry Hart by PSS, I had to pull out Salem Hornbook because I enjoyed stitching on a PSS. Here's the before..

and the after..
Sorry for the wrinkles. Pretty good progress. I stitched on this for a good while and
then got bored! So it's back in its project bag. I just have that whole bottom
portion to stitch. So I dove into my bag of WIPs waiting for any of them to give
me a signal and this one was it..
This is a Maynia start two years ago. Happy Owlidays that came from one
of those cross stitch Christmas books by Craftways. Here's the before..

and after..

The fabric might be PTP legacy or wren, not sure. It's a cutie. It's a bit strange
going from 1 over 2 to 2 over 2, always feels like it's so bulky. But
then I feel that way going from a high count fabric to a lower one. The PTP is 32ct.
Anyway, it's not a very big design. From that big snowflake to the gray line at
the bottom is how high it is. I will stay with this one until I get bored or
finish!

I found this latest magazine at Joanne's..

Here are 4 designs that I like..

See the Small Treasures design on the box below the magazine? I'm joining
Dixiesamplar's Haunted Harvest Exchange this year as usual. Sign ups are
this Monday and deadline is the 29th. I'm stitching that design but going to stick the word Scary between Small and Treasures and fill it with some small stitched items like a scissor fob, that
small pincushion that is 3 pictures up, and a few other things. That's my plan but it depends
on who my partner will be. I'm a Halloween fanatic and not every one is. We'll see.
Anyone who wants to join, go to Dixiesamplar's Exchange Group at FB.

Giveaway! Yes, this magazine extra..

I will draw
names a week from today if more than 1 person wants it.
There are some really nice projects in this issue. Be a follower, comment that you would
like to have it. Sorry I can only mail in the U.S.

Alrighty, this will have to be it. Blogger is going nuts!

Hope your weekend is going well and that you're able to stitch!

Take care!
