Stitcher, Interrupted!

Hi all! Coming to you from a super nice Arizona. It's about 62 degrees out. Got the front door open, cats are enjoying the sun.

This won't be a very long post because as my title implies, my bday SAL was interrupted! All of my starts up to last Sunday are not very big with the exception of Girls with Blue Dresses. My next new start is a little bigger and I've been stitching on it since last Sunday...
I am having so much fun stitching on this! I thought I was going to lose my
Halloween fanatic card so I pulled this out. It's from JCS October 2008.
This design is the only reason I've kept this issue from my subscription. It's on 36ct, using NPI
silks that are in my stash. Luckily, I had two skeins of the black silk.

E.A.Poe approves.

Although it looks like I've chucked my SAL, I'll get back to the routine soon. I up and joined
another blog hop hosted by Jo. I have a Valentine's pattern all kitted up and ready to stitch
right next to me. I still have time to stitch two more items for an exchange. So all
these extra things I'm stitching are and will be part of my bday SAL. It's all good.

I also FFO'd a couple things..
on the left we have Merry Primitive Christmas-1885, a freebie from the Primitive Hare.
I have stitched this twice but I like this one better. The backing fabric is the same
as the front. On the right is also a freebie, by Plum Street Samplers. The
backing fabric is a magenta flower on cream background. I took a mother
of pearl button and used it to attach coffee dyed ribbon to the side. Before I
did that though, I took cream colored lace and sewed to around the opening. I
have to say I did pretty good on it, never mind catching my skin and the
opposite fabric with the needle a couple times. I also bent the eye of my Bohin needle!

I still like my Bohin needles! Both of those freebies you'll find at the designer's
blogs.

Now, for something totally not me! I signed up for a floss of the month club or
FOTM as they're known on FB. Look at those colors! Classic Colorworks floss.
I have more GAST and WDW floss than these, and some colors I have 3 or 4 skeins
of. I don't know if Crazy Annie's is full in this club so I put their card in with
the picture in case some of you want to find out. They're on FB too.
I'm looking forward to seeing what colors they send here on out.

Plans, plans, want to hear my plans? First of all I need to get through my bday
SAL. After that the world is my oyster! Immediately after my SAL or when I
give up, fingers crossed I don't, I have picked out 4 of my longest living
WIPs that will get a weeks worth of stitching. Two are on Aida, and the
others are on linen. It's a plan anyway and I usually end up doing
something else. Somewhere in all this, I'm going to do a WIP parade!
I have about 26 WIPs now and I thought it would be fun to go through
all of mine. I'll take about 4 or 5 posts to do that and including the
usual stuff I talk about. That'll be fun.

Okey doke, that is it! Blogger didn't even go haywire! Those of you new to
my blog, I use an elderly iPad that is on its last legs. I had to
uninstall an app I was using that gave me big pictures for the blog.
Now you have to click on the pictures to enlarge them. I'm
happy with it now. But when I'm typing,  the template goes up and down.
Every other type I can't see, and the other I can see what I've typed. So
forgive me for any punctuation and spelling mistakes! Haha.

Take care and we'll see you next time:)

Update

Good afternoon! I am back to show my SAL stitching and a few other things.

Bday SAL:

Here is day 7, Hare Sampler and it is finished. It might be a tad darker than real life. I wasn't crazy about that empty space to the right of the hare so I stitched in a clump of weeds! I might have to go back and take out a few stitches of the clump because I think it goes past that last blue flower at the top. Yeah, I'm a bit anal when it comes to lining things up.

Day 8 is Snow Bird by Lizzie Kate, a freebie..
Not a whole lot of stitching going on with this one. I love colorful ornament sized
design on black fabric.

Day 9 is..

Here is where I'm at..
I am using the same red and bluish color that is used on the Hare Sampler because
this pin keep will go with the sampler. Some ideas I have are
mounting the sampler on mat board, inserting/gluing a magnet to a corner so this
pinkeep can be attached to the sampler and then the whole finished and
sitting on one of those display thingees, can't think of the word right now.
I'll take a picture when it's all done. I'm still thinking of a box too. So
stay tuned!

Day 10..

Midnight Manor Mini by Waxing Moon..

and what I have stitched so far..

and..Day 11, Consumed by Gifts by Brittercup in JCS Christmas issue
2010..

My FFO bug same out of hibernation for 1 day, long enough to get this
pumpkin finished..
I think this is by the Trilogy, or Hand in Heart, can't really remember.
Orange wool on the sides and the back fabric is that underneath it. I
used the wrong side of it. The right side was super bright. I finished it
off with the crinkly dyed silk ribbon bow. I have another finish but I'll
show that next time. Blogger is doing its up and down thing!

Alrighty, I believe that's it. Obviously, my counting for my sal is a
bit off as it's the 18th today but I've stitched just 11 things.

Oh well!

Take care everyone. Stay warm for those of you in the path of that
huge storm!

SAL

Good morning all! Here are my next new starts for my bday SAL. But first I want to respond to some comments left on the last post:

Linda, you are more than welcome to join me on my 56 day SAL!

Melinda/Merry Wind Farm wanted to know what DMC color I'm using for the blue dresses. I'm using 3761. I'm attracted to a chart by the picture of the model but as we all know the called for floss sometimes doesn't look like the picture. Oh and I decided to keep the border leaves all one color. Thanks for your input Melinda:)

Jo/Serendipitous Stitcher said she likes how Beth Twist used the U in honour, see last post to see what I'm talking about. I do too. Since Charles Dickens is from England, I am stitching just how it looks on the chart. At first I was going to change it to American English spelling but it makes more sense to leave it.

Now onto my SAL starts...Day 4
By Stacy Nash. I stitched this once before on a lighter fabric. I'm using a 28ct fabric which sure
looks and feels like 30 or 32ct.

Day 5 is..
Kitchen Witch, a freebie by the Primitive Hare. This has been in my freebie stash for awhile. I'll
look forward to throwing the copy into the trash! Some freebie copies I keep, others I toss if I don't
see myself stitching it again.

Day 6..
Hare Sampler from a 2019 Primitive Punchneedle and Stitching magazine. I think it's
the summer issue. I'm stitching this for the exchange that I joined. I think it's called
the Spring Hop or Spring into Easter exchange. My partner likes sampler type
designers. Here's where I am at on it..
I have since added the alphabet up to T and the top of the rabbits head. It's going to be
around 5.5 sq inches. I'm not sure how I'll FFO this. If I can find a wood or paper mâché
box big enough, I'll mount it on the top.

Day 7..
I love this little design! There's some back stitch on the cabin but that's it. I'm stitching
this in hand since I have no qsnaps small enough. I plan to finish it just like picture.
The fabric looks like brown suede with dots on it. I was looking for this fabric
at Hob Lob but no luck. Maybe I can use fabric paint for the dots on brown fabric.
That's a thought.

So by now you're thinking yeah, but it's the 10th today and you have just 7 starts.
I didn't stitch one of the days and I'm taking the time to finish Hare Sampler.
I have until the middle of March to send my exchange package back east.

Alrighty, I think that's it. Once again Blogger is telling me your time is up!

I'll keep stitching on my exchange piece until it's done and then back to my SAL.
Anyone else want to join me, you're welcome to.

Happy Stitching!

SALing along!

Hi everyone! It's finally warmed up over here, 60 today. After reading your comments last post about how you haven't had cold weather, I've decided Mother Nature is bi-polar!

I have 3 days of stitching for my bday SAL, so here they are..
My January 1st start-Girls in Blue Dresses by Merry Wind Farm. I'm using 32ct linen
with the called for floss with one exception. For the blue dresses I'm going
by the picture so the DMC for the dresses are different than what is called for.
I'm be-bopping along, stitching leaves on that right border when I see the
next set of leaves are a different floss. Not earth-shattering by any means but
it threw me into confusion. Do I want to make all the leaves on the border the
same color or not and follow the pattern? I'll decide when I get back to it.

My 2nd day start is from a JCS magazine..

Luckily I live where there are Octobers.

What I've stitched so far. I'll make this a pillow but with the same look on the
magazine. It's cute.

The 3rd day, Friday, is a freebie from Heartstrings Samplery..
Beth Twist says she didn't stitch this up so who knows how it'll look all
stitched up but judging by how it looks so far, it's going to be pretty. I'm
using 35ct Alabaster by R & R. It'll be dainty.

I don't have anything chosen for today's stitching but I will later.

I also found another Christmas Carol-type chart from Margaret & Margaret..
Dickens Village Ornaments.

Alrighty, a short post. I'm using up my data on my phone to power the wifi
hot spot to get on the internet so I'm not sure how much more I can do this.
As it is, it took a long time to upload these pictures. I'll try to be back
in 3 or 4 days with more bday stitching.

If anyone is interested, Teri/Dixiesamplar's Exchange Group is hosting a
Spring/Easter exchange. Sign ups are still going on. I have signed up
and whatever I stitch for my partner will be my SAL project.

Take care, folks! I've had a few more followers join so Welcome to
this here blog. Hope you'll stick around!
