Stitching Potpourri

Hello everyone! Nearly a month gone already, life got busy but I'm back. I have been stitching as you'll see below! Picture heavy so get comfy with snacks and liquids, lol.

As you all know, I debated about closing my Facebook account with all the stitching groups I was in. I reactivated the account just this past Wednesday because the restrictions had ended. I was essentially on parole from Facebook jail for something I said. What I found out is that I can live without it. So we'll see what happens in the future.

What I didn't give up was keeping up with the challenges and SALs that I was with in those FB groups. So let's see what I've been doing with my time.

First up is my #idareyousal2023 May project and that was A Bee in your Bonnet...

by Summerhouse Stitche Workes. I started on that bee skep stitching the outline. Eyelets will go in the blank areas. There's not much more to go!

For the May Clear the Deck SAL project is Frosty Forest, and guess what? It's a FINISH!!..
Yay! I can't believe it's finished! A 5 year WIP, this is full of smashed stitches and the wrong color of white! DMC white, that is, lol! The 8th block has a different white than its border, and the 9th block is all of one white color but much more brighter than the white used in the other blocks, face palm right now! It's very noticeable up close but I'm loving it. I still need some jabc buttons. Stay tuned because below I'm using Frosty Forest for something special.

For my own Christmas ornament SAL, here's Star Banner by La D Da, found in the JCS 2013 ornament issue, and it's finished...
On 28ct Tin Roof gingham fabric, I could stitching 3 more stars for a longer garland. I still have a lot of the fabric left.

For Maynia, I started Jack's Bash by PSS, for the 2nd time...
I'm using a different fabric this time. It's 36ct but and from the Atomic Ranch line.

For June, here's my plans...
Mighty Acorn for the idareyou SAL..

Song of the Seasons for Clear the Decks

For my ornament SAL, it's Snow Birds..
Also from the 2013 issue.

Aand, I've joined the Colorado Stitcher on IG for #CrossStitchCamp2023..
This is the 2004 Christmas ornament by BBD from the 2004 JCS ornament issue. The challenge is to stitch something with a bird on it. Camp runs to the end of August.

I also had, surprise surprise, 2 FFOs!
On the left is Boo, and I believe it's from one of the special Halloween issues of JCS. I trimmed it with black ric rac just on the top and bottom. On right is a Lizzie Kate design, chart is called just the Christmas Sampler. I have to throw in a Lizzie Kate every now and then!
Here's the backs...

So now we're up to the fun part! A contest!! It's been awhile.

You must be a follower, and you must leave a working email. I'll leave the contest going for 2 weeks before I pick names. I'm offering up a grand prize and a consolation prize. If the grand prize winner drawn is from the UK or Europe,  it'll be a e-gift card from a UK cross stitch shop. I will figure out the conversion rate. Therefore, if the consolation winner is from the US, it's a e-gift card from a shop here. Or vice-versa.

Here's what you do--go back and look at my Frosty Forest finish. I have 2 favorite blocks. It's your job to pick which 2 those are! Here's a picture of Frosty Forest with the way I numbered the blocks...
Like a backward 2. In your comment, leave the number that you think is my 1st favorite, then pick the number that you think is my 2nd favorite block. Be sure to make it clear. If more than 1 person picks the same numbers, there will be a run-off draw. Remember to leave a good email address because that's how the stores will contact you. The contest ends on June 12, 10pm Arizona time. That should give everyone time to mosey on by and read this post. Please play! Hope it's not too hard to understand.

It'll be fun!!

Alrighty, I think that's it. I usually do my posts with notes but not this time. I probably should do 2 posts a month because this seemed to be a lot!

Be back on the 13th to announce winners and progress on whatever I've been stitching on.

Happy Stitching!
