The Wind Doth Blow

And it's blowing here! I'm staying in today. So I finally bought a new cell phone. So far, pictures are bright and crisp. We'll see if they show up good here on the blog.

On the last blog post, I forgot a lot that I wanted to talk about. I've written things down. First, let's see what I've been stitching!

I think I'm on Week 15, and that was Joy from the 2011 issue of the JCS ornament magazine, and it's finished!

I haven't ironed her yet but it was a fun stitch. Not your familiar Christmas colors of course!

Week 16 is Tomato Santa by...

Becky Noland. On a mystery piece of linen with the called for floss. I'm more than halfway finished. Lots of red stitches. The white spot at his lower face is his beard or soul patch like Becky says! I might change that up with a VanDyke beard or something similar. It's hard for me to imagine Santa with a soul patch!

Week 17 is O'Tannenbaum by Pineberry Lane..

On 40ct Confederate Gray, I love the color! I had my doubts about the floss for the border, Avocado, but it's showing up well. It's been quite a while since I've stitched on a Pineberry Lane.

I'm still being a good girl taking my SAL starts from its container. There are 4 projects left but I'm undecided on one. We'll see what I end up doing.

I've been seeing lots of the Noel Sampler by WTN&T being stitched, our own Carol/Stitching Dreams finished one, so I pulled mine out...

I have reached the center with that top border, and started the house. That bricked part of the house is a humdinger though. I see myself taking breaks from it. That and the border on the left! I hate stitching single stitches, lol.

Next up are my FFOs, well one was unstuffed and restuffed with better Stuff! Haha....

The restuffed is on the left, Merry One by Plum Street. It had the nasty stuffing that would stick out. I finished it a long time ago and had it trimmed with chenille that I actually sewed on! Will wonders never cease! I have since gone downhill because I now glue trim on!

That gorgeous cowboy on the right is Beau Leggy in the Desert by Ink Circles. I love how he turned out. No trim for him but I'd like some kind of pin up in the corner, a cactus, a star, or a horseshoe.

That's it for the stitching.

I joined an exchange in the FB group Homespun Needleworks. My giftee is in New Zealand. I have a month to get something going and better start real soon because it seems to take 2 weeks for mail to reach that part of the world. I saw some cool patterns in a JCS summer issue that I might try.

Most of you know I'm a kitter. I had stacks of scrapbook totes with kitted projects in them. Since I've been on this 61 starts SAL, I've enjoyed emptying these totes and stitching the things. I no longer have all these stacks! Another thing is having to go through them all looking to borrow a floss or two from the kitted things. I'm turning over a new leaf and will no longer kit. I feel the 'kit' coming on sometimes but I'm having to much fun sitting down and pulling the floss and linen if I have them.

So I see I'm not alone in fighting off the scammers. I got another one a couple days ago but called it spam and deleted it. They're everywhere!

I just know I'm forgetting something else I wanted to say but it'll come to me later. I'll save it for next time.

I guess I'm done! My cell phone has worked pretty good when it's in the presense of Wi-Fi but a little slow when we're not.

I'm off to Baskin-Robbins so we'll see you later! Take care as always!

As The World Turns....

The stitching continues! Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing fine! So, I feel like I was just here a couple days ago posting but it's been nearly 2 weeks tomorrow. How can that be?! I've lost about a week somewhere.

So grab a drink😊and have a seat and let's look at what I have stitched,...

My 61 SAL continues with Week 13

From the 2011 issue of JCS ornaments. It's been on my radar that long! Using the called for DMC and my linen is a mystery. There's not much more stitching left for a finish and it'll be a flat ornament once I get my hands on more sticky mat board.

I'm going to go off subject here but I'm pretty bummed that Joanne's is closing. They're the only place I've found that has 'flat' mat board. Hob Lob has some but they're curved. I don't know if the packaging causes that but I'm afraid my finished piece will be curved too. I might look into the Fat Quarter Shop for some since the Housewives buys theirs from the Shop and it doesn't looked curved.

Week 14 is a bigger piece...

Morticia's Second Line. I'm using Endora 36ct by Needle and Flax, a first and I'm liking it! You'll have to click on the picture to see it closer. I've stitched more since yesterday and have the entire skeleton horse's head stitched in along with the Bourbon sign.

In between the above starts, I worked on a couple of WIPs. First is Flowers of Freedom..
This might've been my Week 2 start. I finished the top flag and am now working on the 2nd flag. It's going to be very bright and pretty.

Aaand once again, I brought out Martha...
I stitched in more of the house.

No finishes this time around.

I have pictures of the 2 trees I talked about last post. First one is the Ornamental Pear...
Isn't it pretty?! They're hardy, like dry environments. They're mostly on a drip irrigation system. I'm not sure they'd survive without the drip system.

The Ornamental Plum has pink or magenta flowers...
We've eaten the plums and they're not bad, very small and not super sweet. They sure are pretty when they bloom.

Next topic....Scammers!

I have fought the good fight, they are relentless! Good thing I have comment moderation! I report them as spam and then delete. All from some kind of Embroidery Digitizing but we all know that's a sham! After I would delete, within minutes another would show up! It's so bad.

This was a short but sweet post! Probably one of my shortest! It's warmed up here, hitting middle 70s and got up to 83 last week. I've peeled off one blanket and actually went to bed with no fluffy socks on, haha. Not looking forward to the 90s though, ugh.

Stitch all the things and stay safe!
