CJ! She wins the LizzieKate chart Coming to Town~Santa '11. CJ, I had your mailing address but not anymore. So email me at _______to leave your mailing address! Thanks to the 3 other contestants who played along.
Another big finish, folks, at least for me. I started Vintage Stars in 2013 sometime. I had to go back and track it down. So here she is...
This is by Jeannette Douglas Designs. This is my problem child and I have detailed the problems I've had with the silks and their names/colors so I won't bore you all again. Stitched on 35ct Liberty Gathering Gray by R & R. It's not splotched at all but sprinkling water on it to iron it resulted in it looking this way. I love it! This puts me at 17 finishes for the year. Here is a picture of the chart against my finish. You'll notice the yellow color in the big top motif..
I took my requisite day off from stitching after Stars and started back on this...
This is not my picture. I took this from the internet but this is what my pattern looks like. It's by Jura Point de Croix. I don't know a lick of French! She has a blog by the same name but it's all in French. I'm stitching mine on a lambswool-looking fabric. I just have half of the skinny snowman right now. Here is something else she has designed and those houses are adorable..
Carol, I could swear you stitched up some Christmas ornaments from this designer sometime back. I may be wrong. So I wanted to download some freebie patterns from her but my iPad wasn't having it.
I also got some good news from Stitching Noni that my package to her for Christmas in July made it! Sixteen days to Australia it took. She'll be blogging about that pretty soon so be sure to check her out at Fireflies and Cats in the Garden.
Here's another look at Vintage Stars..
Which brings me up to a little contest....who can guess which of all the medallions/motifs on this design is my favorite? I've never mentioned a favorite. So take a look at the better picture and this ^. Just leave your guess in the comments. If two or more people guess the same, I'll draw a name a week from this Saturday and send something. It'll be a surprise! Open to anyone. Sounds like fun!
Well, I've got to get ready for work. I wanted to comment on comments left in the last two posts but have run out of time. So in the next time I'm here with the winner of the contest, I'll do that.
I better get. Take care everyone!

Vintage Stars is gorgeous! Such beautiful, soft colors. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Great finish. I'm going to guess the bottom left full motif, the copper coloured one, was your favourite, although I'm leaning towards the blue, but that could be because it's my favourite colour. :) Congrats CJ! and thanks for the info on the other site too.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on Vintage Stars, it's pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove the Jura Point de Croix houses.
I will guess the blue motif on the left.
Marilyn
My guess is the blue motif. The design is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteSince everyone else thinks the blue, I will say the big top center design. What a beautiful finish!!
ReplyDeleteVintage Stars is simply stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the top design where you've swapped the colours, so pretty.
Beautiful finish! I guess your favorite was the last one...
ReplyDeletehappy stitching.
This is a beautiful finish!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is gorgeous, Shelly! So glad you finished it and my guess for the favorite is the blue motif (but only because that is my favorite!!).
ReplyDeleteI think I only did one ornament from Jura Point de Croix and the link is still up and working on my blog... Just go here and you'll see it: http://stitchingdream.blogspot.com/2012/02/favorite-freebie-finishes-2012-edition.html I did the melting snowman portion of that larger chart!
Awesome progress Shelly. Vintage stars is stunning. I'm going to say the big pink one in the middle bottom half.
ReplyDeleteLinda
Well, my favourite star is the middle right (just under y and Z) in very pretty pale neutral colours, it looks very elegant. So, for that reason i will guess that as your favourite too. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish. Such gorgeous muted colours. I think your favourite is the top centre one in which you changed the colours.
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! I think the middle one that touches the top - brown!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous sampler. I quilt, as well as cross stitch and it reminds me of quilt blocks. I think your favorite may be the one under the letters Y and Z. Love the Santa, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pattern, so sorry I took so long to check out your latest post. I love the Vintage Stars. I think you like the blue motif, I know I do.
