A couple finishes
I am so excited to be back here on my original blog! I was able to recover that email that is hooked up to this blog. I hadnt been able to check emails on that account and was pretty sure there was going to be hundreds of emails! But nope!
So enough of that! Lets get to those two finishes.
Rest Thy Scissors by Notforgotten Farm. I did Stitch Maynia in May and started two designs and as soon as May was over, I started this piece. I wanted it in the black box like the model..
I bought the box at their etsy shop. Here's how it looks..
My next finish is a long time WIP..Feliz Navidad, found in the Christmas ornies preview issue of JCS of July/Aug 2012..
Stitched on crystal Phoenix by PTP. I will never stitch on the sparkly fabric again! It was too much for my eyes. It turned out nice. It says Feliz Navidad and has musical notes scattered about. Here's how the model looks..
Be sure to click on pictures. Thats about as big as I can get them.
So I missed doing the WIP challenge with Jo from Serendipitous Stitcher for Summer Solstice and lo and behold, it was Sunday! I tbought it was the last day of the month! Sorry Jo if you read tbis! That being said, I'm happily back to WIPs.
So Arizona has been on fire since last week. It's been a severe drought and there are several wildland fires in northern and central AZ. We also had a heatwave last week where here we hit 105 degrees one day. We never got below 100 for 6 or 7 days. It was horrible. Then a storm came through with hardly any rain but plenty of lightning, hence the fires. No relief in sight until our monsoon starts up. We're crossing our fingers!
This is it! Glad to be back!

Both great finshes! Sparkly red looks lovely but i am afraid not for my eyes too. I had finished stitching on a black fabric and i had really difficulty with it.
ReplyDeleteGreat finishes! The heat in the west this year is horrid. I am so concerned about fires up here. We are low on Spring rain!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your back Shelly. Great finishes.

Well done on your finishes! Glad you were able to hook up with your older email and return to your original blog.
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad you're back! Praying for rain for y'all. We need it, too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful news that you got your old blog back, Shelly! The Scissor piece will look great in that tray and I love the fabric you're using for Feliz Navidad! The guitar strings look so neat on that one :)
ReplyDeleteYour heat is exactly the opposite of what we've been having--it was down to 47 this morning. Crazy for the end of June and I'm sure hoping things improve soon :) Take care now and try to stay cool ♥
Yay! So glad you got your old blog back. Technical issues are so frustrating, aren't they? We're down here in Surprise and there's so much smoke in the air when the fires are somewhat near us that our morning skies are a brown/orange color. Fingers crossed that Monsoon will come in soon and that we'll have a really rainy season.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame you couldn't do the Longest Day marathon with me but there's always next year!
ReplyDeleteThe box for the first design looks lovely, a nice way to finish a piece.
Glad you have recovered your blog too.
Cute finishes.
ReplyDeleteI hope the heat subsides & that you get some rain.
Here in WI, we had a drought for 6 weeks, then it rained for 5 days.

I'm so glad you got the box for your finish, that will look great!
ReplyDeleteFeliz Navidad looks good, maybe it was the darker fabric that gave you a hard time? I've used light sparkle fabric before and liked it.
I hope the weather has gotten better for you by now.
