Alright, alright, alright!

Hi everyone! I thought I would take a small break from getting ready for work and give you all an update, stitching and health. First of all, thanks for your words of concern and caring! I appreciate it! I returned to work Monday. The recommended quarantine time is now 10 days from the onset of symptoms. I no longer have a fever, and my respiratory issues have eased somewhat. There are days when I don't have a lot of coughing and days when that's all I do, like this morning. The day after the last post when I said I hadn't lost my taste and smell, well I lost them. And that bothered me! I was like why even bother eating? But I have to eat and it's no fun! I've had a couple bad days, last Wednesday night when it felt like I couldn't catch a breath laying down but I woke up the next morning obviously! Then Saturday morning when I woke up with the worst case of nausea! I didnt go anywhere until Saturday when I had to take care of a couple of things. I wore a mask, took disinfecting wipes so my daughter could wipe down areas that I touched. I've gone back to wearing masks everywhere. I feel like I dodged a bullet. I had found out that a cousin in Oklahoma almost died from covid. She spent 2 weeks in the hospital and still has breathing problems. I am hoping my sense of taste comes back soon. It's awful not being able to taste food! Stitching wise..I did finish Beau Leggy in the Desert.
He's on 32ct tarnish by PTP, using DMCs. I made changes to his hat and boot color which was purple. Everything else is pretty much called for. I mentioned some stash I think that I was excited about. Let's see if I can upload a couple pictures..
I have most of the called for flosses with a few small areas to be DMC subs. I dont have the fabric but I have some coming from 123stitch soon. The next piece of new stash is..
That's right..a The Primitive Stitcher chart! Haha. This is the result of being in seclusion! The price tag is more than I would normally pay but some BBD booklets come close. This is Wicked Alphabet. I have a 36ct vellum linen by PTP set aside and the flosses coming from 123stitch. So last Saturday, I put pieces of paper with the names of all my WIPs in a basket to draw from. I've only had time to stitch on 2 WIPs but here are the two..
You'll recognize this! Souvenir de France, a freebie from BBD. I'm sure you've all heard about the death of one of the partners so it was fitting that I picked this out of the basket. It's on WDW linen which makes it very wonky. I'm not crazy about it but it's going to match well with the fabric I was lucky to win from the kitten stitcher. The next WIP to be picked is Tombstone Angel but it's taking my phone too long to upload. I have nearly finished the angel itself. I'll have to wrap it up. We have gotten our monsoon storms, yay, and it's driven down thd heat. We had so many fires, it was smoky for a good long while. It's going to take many soaking rains to get us out of this extreme drought we're in. For the rest of July, I'll keep drawing my WIPs to work on. Doing it like this means the WIPs I'm least likely to work on will see the light of day! Take care, all! I hope youre all staying safe and healthy! See you next time!

  2. So glad to hear your doing better Shelly. No more scares. Love your new stash. Like the way your picking your projects to work on. With over 700 UFO's, it would take me a year to write them all down. lol

  4. Really glad to hear you are doing so much better. With a history of asthma I was really worried about covid! Sounds like I had good reason. You are lucky to have a Primitive needle chart. I loved her designs!!

  5. I am glad that you are getting better now! Your country's vaccination programme seems to be very odd and piecemeal. Here we are doing the 18 year olds and I made sure my son has his back in June. Same with the masks, I have had one cold since Covid started and that is down to the lockdown and mask wearing.
Love that Primitive Needle chart, especially the witch at the bottom. Lisa's death was a great loss to the stitching community, as was Barb from BBD.

  7. Well, I am just back from San Diego and catching up on blogs! I'm so sorry to hear the you contracted Covid, Shelly... so very scary, I'm sure as you never know what path it might take. It sounds like you are doing better since you have are already back at work. Please do take care now and get lots of extra rest when you can. Quietly stitching will be helpful I'm sure! The new charts you got should keep you plenty busy and congratulations on the cute cowboy finish. I can't imagine how that woodpecker is pecking on the cactus without getting spiked, but it's very cute :)

    Do take care! ♥
