Technical difficulties🤦🏻‍♀️

Testing? Testing?! I am attempting a blog post today but we'll see if my phone allows me! I think I'm needing a new one soon.

This will be a short one as I don't have any finishes and I just have the 2 starts for my 61 starts. Maybe I can warble on about them.

Week 8 had me starting this beauty...

Here is Martha. Sandy Spencer from Whispered Stitches reworked this NeedleWorkPress sampler. I have heard her name mentioned on a couple flosstubes I've watched. What attracted me was the off-kilter placement of the house and the cartouche. Plus what looks like calculators scattered about, I'm not sure what they're supposed to be! If you click on that bottom picture you might see them. Actually, on the actual sampler there's one under the cartouche. What I'm not sure of is is how I'm including Martha's name and how old she is. Directions say to add directly under the bottom border but I'm not too crazy about doing that. I have time and space to add all that, 1 over 1, somewhere inside the border but at the bottom. Stay tuned!

Week 9 is O Tannenbaum by Brenda Gervais, on the called for fabric, 36ct Legacy PTP linen, and the called for fabric...

I am stitching this like Brenda suggests on her blog. Anybody else remember her blog? She says to stitch all 5 designs together on one piece of fabric, with enough space in between to cut and mount each piece on cardboard chipboard. I'm not sure what that is but I'll be using sticky board for mine. It's unusual to stitch those designs sideways that will sit horizontally in the wood display box. I don't have 3 flosses needed so I'll root through my WIPs and kitted projects for those.

I might take a break until this coming Wednesday to stitch on an older WIP I'd like to get done. I ran out of a floss for it and ordered another but it has dye lot issues so I'll go through all my overdyed floss for a substitute.

Market!!!

I'm afraid I overdid it! 🤣 I order through GaRon Stitchery for Market and the other that happens in the Fall. The biggest purchase is the book by The Primitive Hare. Chock full of scary designs; can't wait to get my hands on that. I am still doing stitch from stash so I have a 'cushion' built up for what I spent. The more finishes, the more of a cushion I'll have.

Weather!!

We had snow! 'Had' snow🤣it's all gone. Five inches melts fast where I live. In fact, it was 62 degrees today. The day it snowed

I was sure it was going to continue and I was running low on groceries. Got myself out to clean the snow off my car. It was a wet snow. We needed it badly though. We have another system headed our way in a couple days with snow/rain. Hurrah!

Honeybee, I'm checking out the SAL you mentioned from Lola Crow. Sounds intriguing☺️

And that ladies and gentlemen will be it! It's back to work tomorrow. A week from tomorrow is Spring Break and I will be working just 2 days. I'll be FFOing the rest of the time! I made it public so now I have to.

See you soon!

  1. I still can't get over your snow, Shelly! I honestly, before I began reading blogs anyway, never thought it snowed in AZ :) And you got so much! We are in the 60s and 70s this week and, although it's just for five or six days, I'm in heaven :) Nice start on your projects--hope you can figure out what the "calculators" actually are--ha ha! Enjoy your week ♥

  2. Hi Shelly: Lovely progress on your stitching, oh my goodness the snow, that is what we should be getting here in Minnesota, not your area, so glad it was in the 60s to melt the snow.

  3. Can't bring myself to plunge into a SAL, sight unseen. But I'll be keeping an eye on it! 😆

  4. What a pretty start on Martha! O Tannenbaum is a beautiful piece, it's very tempting.
We got more snow this year than years past, but I would have liked to have more!
