Alright, alright, alright!

Hi everyone! I thought I would take a small break from getting ready for work and give you all an update, stitching and health. First of all, thanks for your words of concern and caring! I appreciate it! I returned to work Monday. The recommended quarantine time is now 10 days from the onset of symptoms. I no longer have a fever, and my respiratory issues have eased somewhat. There are days when I don't have a lot of coughing and days when that's all I do, like this morning. The day after the last post when I said I hadn't lost my taste and smell, well I lost them. And that bothered me! I was like why even bother eating? But I have to eat and it's no fun! I've had a couple bad days, last Wednesday night when it felt like I couldn't catch a breath laying down but I woke up the next morning obviously! Then Saturday morning when I woke up with the worst case of nausea! I didnt go anywhere until Saturday when I had to take care of a couple of things. I wore a mask, took disinfecting wipes so my daughter could wipe down areas that I touched. I've gone back to wearing masks everywhere. I feel like I dodged a bullet. I had found out that a cousin in Oklahoma almost died from covid. She spent 2 weeks in the hospital and still has breathing problems. I am hoping my sense of taste comes back soon. It's awful not being able to taste food! Stitching wise..I did finish Beau Leggy in the Desert.
He's on 32ct tarnish by PTP, using DMCs. I made changes to his hat and boot color which was purple. Everything else is pretty much called for. I mentioned some stash I think that I was excited about. Let's see if I can upload a couple pictures..
I have most of the called for flosses with a few small areas to be DMC subs. I dont have the fabric but I have some coming from 123stitch soon. The next piece of new stash is..
That's right..a The Primitive Stitcher chart! Haha. This is the result of being in seclusion! The price tag is more than I would normally pay but some BBD booklets come close. This is Wicked Alphabet. I have a 36ct vellum linen by PTP set aside and the flosses coming from 123stitch. So last Saturday, I put pieces of paper with the names of all my WIPs in a basket to draw from. I've only had time to stitch on 2 WIPs but here are the two..
You'll recognize this! Souvenir de France, a freebie from BBD. I'm sure you've all heard about the death of one of the partners so it was fitting that I picked this out of the basket. It's on WDW linen which makes it very wonky. I'm not crazy about it but it's going to match well with the fabric I was lucky to win from the kitten stitcher. The next WIP to be picked is Tombstone Angel but it's taking my phone too long to upload. I have nearly finished the angel itself. I'll have to wrap it up. We have gotten our monsoon storms, yay, and it's driven down thd heat. We had so many fires, it was smoky for a good long while. It's going to take many soaking rains to get us out of this extreme drought we're in. For the rest of July, I'll keep drawing my WIPs to work on. Doing it like this means the WIPs I'm least likely to work on will see the light of day! Take care, all! I hope youre all staying safe and healthy! See you next time!

Drat!

So this is my 2nd attempt at a blog post. The first attempt was 3 days ago and it had new stash on it, stash that I'm very excited about, and progress on a WIP. It takes my phone a long time to upload a picture so I cancelled that post and will attempt again with 1 picture, my WIP.
This is Beau Leggy in the Desert from Ink Circles. On 32ct tarnish by PTP. I am now stitching his left boot. I will be finished soon because... I've went and caught Covid. I went a whole year and a half being diligent about the masks, the hand sanitizer, everything. I got lazy tbe past 2 months, even went to the 4th of July rodeo almost a week ago. Last Thursday I started having a hot head which I thought was me stressing on something. Another thing is I never get sick and if I do, it's never in summer. I tested positive this morning. I wanted extra stitching time but not this way! I have a fever, not real bad, congestion in throat and nose, coughing and just tired. I still have my senses of taste and smell, and no body aches. The coughing is what gets to me though. It's constant and keeps me from sleeping. My daughter is keeping me in groceries and my job is paying for my time off. As it looks, next Monday is when I can go back to work. It all depends if and when this fever leaves. So keep up your diligence! Covid is not done with us just yet. After I recover, you can bet I will get a vaccination. I want to finish stitching on Beau and get him finished. Then do a swan dive into my WIPs and pick something else to work on. Take care! See you next time!

A couple finishes

I am so excited to be back here on my original blog! I was able to recover that email that is hooked up to this blog. I hadnt been able to check emails on that account and was pretty sure there was going to be hundreds of emails! But nope! So enough of that! Lets get to those two finishes.
Rest Thy Scissors by Notforgotten Farm. I did Stitch Maynia in May and started two designs and as soon as May was over, I started this piece. I wanted it in the black box like the model..
I bought the box at their etsy shop. Here's how it looks..
My next finish is a long time WIP..Feliz Navidad, found in the Christmas ornies preview issue of JCS of July/Aug 2012..
Stitched on crystal Phoenix by PTP. I will never stitch on the sparkly fabric again! It was too much for my eyes. It turned out nice. It says Feliz Navidad and has musical notes scattered about. Here's how the model looks..
Be sure to click on pictures. Thats about as big as I can get them. So I missed doing the WIP challenge with Jo from Serendipitous Stitcher for Summer Solstice and lo and behold, it was Sunday! I tbought it was the last day of the month! Sorry Jo if you read tbis! That being said, I'm happily back to WIPs. So Arizona has been on fire since last week. It's been a severe drought and there are several wildland fires in northern and central AZ. We also had a heatwave last week where here we hit 105 degrees one day. We never got below 100 for 6 or 7 days. It was horrible. Then a storm came through with hardly any rain but plenty of lightning, hence the fires. No relief in sight until our monsoon starts up. We're crossing our fingers! This is it! Glad to be back!

A little this and that!

Hi all. Well I see blogger is making changes again! I'm having trouble making a post or uploading any pictures. Darn! I had a lot to show too. I don't know when I'll be back. I'm going to have to fix some sign in problems that I did through my phone. If I can fix that I may be able to make a post through my phone. Although I do t want to think of it, I might have to find another way to blog! Not happy! Take care all! I hope to be back sooner than later. Stay safe and healthy!
