It's Hotter Than You. Know. What...!

First we experienced an Arctic Blast this past winter, now it's a heat wave! What wacky weather! As I write this, it's 95 degrees, down from 105. I think we may have broke a record. I stayed hunkered down at home with a fan on high and a large glass of raspberry tea with plenty of ice to complete my Ornament SAL for June



All Hallows' Eve. I don't remember where I printed this from. I went to the site that was at the bottom of my copy but it just takes me to an 18 year old kids blog! Anyway, it's stitched on mystery linen with CC Purple Pansy. The fabric behind it is what it'll be sewed with.

I haven't done much stitching this past week. I've been too tired, it's too hot. I haven't worked on WIPs. My TUSAL jar is screaming for action!

When I have stitched, I'm doing it on Vintage Stars



I've put in almost the whole large tan motif. I'll be setting the needle to this more often.

This is from Butternut, an oldie but goodie! I've had this forever and it's time to stitch this up. As hot as its been, it'll be nice to stitch something Christmas-y. I've done the floss toss with DMC on 32ct Platinum linen.

This is turning into a small novel!

The Doce Fire is now nearly contained. 6700+ acres burned but no houses burned. Some houses had their front yards, etc. burned but firefighters were able to keep the flames from coming closer.

Jannie, Colorado has sure seen its share of destructive fires. Yarnell is such a cute little town!

I finally smartened up and downloaded this app called BlogPress and I'm using it right now. It seems to work pretty good as you can see, no puny posts!

Well I've gotta go! There's only one thing good about this heat and that's the not wanting to eat! Just drink cold beverages! I really appreciate all the comments you all leave, thanks! Welcome to the new followers!

Another Happy Dance!

With all these Happy Dances I've had lately, I should be in shape! NOT! So I couldn't wait 'til my next post to show everyone Baby It's Cold Outside

!!!!! I love it! So now I'm justified in finding a new start! I couldn't tell you what the fabric is that I used     but its perfect. Stitched with GAST threads.

I live 9 miles from the medium-sized town of Prescott. I drive there to work. About noon a wildfire broke out about 7 miles from where I work. There are mandatory evacuations right now. It has grown to over 6000 acres

This is what the sunset looked like. Where I live we're fine but we're hoping firefighters get the upper hand. As you can see, centering the text seems to be the only way to post more! Lol! Please keep all those people in the line of fire in your thoughts. Thanks everyone! Now I've got to do some laundry..

Here's Homespun Elegance's Winter House sampler. I used Sandstone linen which is a tad darker than this pic. I like it a lot. At first I wasn't too crazy for the thread colors used but its grown on me! And of course, there was Poppies that I finished last week.

So here's what I've been stitching on in between everything. This is a Jeannette Douglas design called Vintage Stars. It's a kit with silks. See the 'star' on the left near G? Well, I think it was supposed to be another color, like that of the bigger star at bottom center. I just hope I don't run out of the color I was  SUPPOSED to use on the smaller stars. The silks came in a small bag with a paper with names of the silk colors but no way to identify the silks! Oh we'll! First lets take care of Tusal

Lots of pinks/yellows from Poppies. Yes, I did finish it! And is since I can't wait 'til the 13th, here it is

At first I wasn't too sure of using this color linen. The model in the magazine uses a lighter color. The big flower on the right was a doozy to stitch. Different colors and its big but it's my favorite and looks more like a poppy. I'm working on another WIP and smelling a finish coming on! Stay tuned!

Next, I want to say Thank You all for your words of Congratulations on my daughter's graduation. We've come down from the clouds now. I also enjoyed your comments on the Whatever ornament. Linda said Whatever is her fave word, EvalinaMaria hates that word, and Silverlotus says Whatever way too much! And her little man is starting to say it too! I tend to mutter that word too when I'm driving down the road and someone pulls a dumb motorist trick, and its better to say Whatever than cussing, right?! Silverlotus, wait until said little man says it to you when he's a teenager! They're able to add a little sneer onto it. It's cute said as a little kid but not when they reach teenage-hood!
